Map backgrounds can be changed by using the layer control icon on the top right of every map. The Agrista farm map contains the following background options:
Every farm map displays the Agrista Agricultural background layer as a default background. We have used the agricultural cadastral dataset for South Africa to create this background layer. The zoom controls can be used to display different levels of information on the map. Zoom out and you can see the original farm boundaries with farm name and number displayed. Zoom in and you can see the unique portion boundaries with portion and farm number displayed. At this zoom scale you can also see the land use components (i.e. cropland and orchards) that have been identified from satellite imagery.
